- Click on the site name and visit site with admin bar available to edit pages and posts.
Home Page

Site elements on the home page are pulled from different parts of the content management system and the school’s or department’s Google Calendar dynamically.
- School Sites: The default for school home pages is a display of the news feed. Do not directly edit the site home page. The most recent post will show 1st on the home page. Archives are available in the new section.
- Department Sites: A good default for your home page is a “menu of services” type of design. i.e. Short Mission Statement, list of staff & links to the main sections of your site.
Editing published content
- Use the editor to add content formatting such as headers (for accessibility separate content sections using a H2), bullet points and internal / external website links.
- Use the “Add media” button to upload images.
- Use Google Drive for PDF files. Files should be hosted from your site / department shared Google Drive folder for website content. To update a published PDF file, use Google Drives ability to upload & revise PDF files … Find the file in Google Drive > Right Click on the file > select “Manage revisions” > Upload a new PDF file > All links that point to this file will display the updated content.
Add, Edit and Delete Pages
- Adding a page: When logged into the system you’ll see a black bar at the top of your screen with a link titled “+ New” button. Place your mouse over the link and select add page from the dropdown.
- Edit a page: Click the “Edit Page” link in the admin bar. You’ll be directed to the edit dashboard for the page.
- Delete a page: Click the red “Move to Trash” link from the edit page dashboard located to the left of the blue “Update” button.

- From the black admin bar at the top of your screen, place your mouse over the name of your site.
- Select “Menus”.
- Find the section menu you’d like to edit from the “Select a menu to edit:” dropdown and click the “select” button.
- Add Menu items and click “Save Menu”.
- To place the menu on a new or existing page’s right side menu:
- Navigate to the Widgets Dashboard by selecting “Widgets” from the left side of your screen under “Appearance”
- Expand the “Navigation Menu” for the menu you would like on the right side by clicking on the down arrow in the right top corner
- Place a checkmark in the box next to any pages you would like the menu to show
- Click the blue “Save” button
- Visit the page(s) to check that the correct menu is now visible.
Create New Right Side Menu , Navigation Menu Widget & Show on your choice of pages
- Create a new Menu from the Menu Dashboard
- Create new “Navigation Menu” Widget from the Widget dashboard by dragging one from the Available Widgets area to the Sidebar area
- Expand the new “Navigation Menu” by clicking on the down arrow on the right side,
- Fill out the title with the name you would like displayed
- In the “Select Menu” dropdown select the new menu you created to be the source of the menu items that will be displayed
- In the “Show Widget for:” section , set to “Everyone” & the next dropdown should have “Show on checked pages” selected
- In the area that lists all your website pages, place a checkmark next to the ones you would like this new navigation widget displayed
- Click the blue “Saved” button
- Visit the pages you have selected for the new Navigation Menu to appear to check that
the menu is now available

- Adding a post: When logged into the system you’ll see a black bar at the top of your screen with a link titled “+ New” button. Place your mouse over the link and select add post from the dropdown.
- Edit a post: When viewing an individual post, click the “Edit Post” link in the admin bar. You’ll be directed to the edit dashboard for the post.
- Delete a post: Click the red “Move to Trash” link from the edit post dashboard located to the left of the blue “Update” button.

- Unless a “widget” has been added by the district as a global design element, keep the right side for menus only.
